As a country with a highly variable climate, Trinidad and Tobago (TT) is facing negative impacts in the current warming environment. So said Environment and Water Resources Minister Ganga Singh during a National Stakeholder Consultation on Climate Services, yesterday. at the Radisson Hotel, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain.

The report, "Decarbonizing Development: Three Steps to a Zero Carbon Future," suggests three essentials for curbing emissions of global-warming gases.

The IICA-EUROCLIMA Project conducted this past November a course on: Climate Risk Management: A tool for evaluation, which is modeled after the experience developed in Costa Rica as an example of adapting agriculture to climate change. The aim was to show the importance of systematization of meteorological data and applications for use in planning sectoral activities promoting the development of these similar tools in other countries.
