Energy Efficiency Training Week for Latin America
27 November-
1 December 2017, Rio de Janeiro

The International Energy Agency (IEA), the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and Eletrobras, supported by KfW and the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, are pleased to announce the Energy Efficiency Training Week for Latin America, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 27 November - 1 December 2017 inclusive.

Building on the success of the IEA E4 training weeks held annually in Paris, the Latin America Training Week will bring together ‘next generation’ energy efficiency professionals from across the region. The event aims to build capacity among policy makers and to equip them with greater knowledge and skills on developing energy efficiency initiatives in their countries.

The Training Week consists of 4 parallel courses on energy efficiency in: 1) buildings; 2) industry; 3) lighting, appliances, and equipment; and 4) transport. Participants attend one of the 4 courses depending on the area in which they have the most experience and interest. Each course offers a mix of lectures, interactive discussions, practical exercises and a site visit. All participants will attend sessions on assessing the potential for energy efficiency, tracking progress, communication campaigns and finance.

There is no charge to attend the training and each participants are responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation expenses. To apply, please complete the online application form by no later than 5 November 2017. The IEA will contact applicants shortly after the dead line to inform them whether or not their application has been successful.

All nominees must have relevant work experience and currently hold a position relevant to the course that they wish to take. The training will be delivered in English so all participants must have a strong proficiency in the language.
